SAFETY MISSION

Our mission is to ensure the health and safety of our employees while we build the infrastructure essential to the future of Ohio.  Our safety program is built upon the foundation of thoroughly training employees, utilizing the latest technology, adhering to all OSHA and industry safety regulations, and empowering employees to work safely. With this solid foundation, we strive to ensure the safest working conditions for our employees and the traveling public.

DBL Z SAFETY COMMITTEE

The Double Z Safety Committee meets once a quarter on Fridays.  The goal of the safety committee is to further strengthen our safety program through a variety of initiatives.  These initiatives include; identifying current and potential project hazards, discussing current industry and OSHA requirements, gathering employee input on issues workers are facing, promote and encourage a strong safety culture, collaborate to solve safety issues, develop innovative safety ideas and more.  The safety committee is open to all employees.

JERRY KELLER SAFETY AWARD

In 2016, Double Z Construction received the Jerry Keller Memorial Safety Award for Divison 5 from the Ohio Contractors Association.  Given at the annual OCA winter conference, this award was given for the best safety record in our bracket.  Our field employees worked over 83,000 hours in 2016 with no recordable injuries.  Receiving this award was an honor for the company and was made possible through the dedication and safety of our employees.  We hope to win again in 2017.

SPRING KICKOFF 2018

In early March 2018, we will be holding our Spring Kickoff.  This event is currently being organized and its purpose will be to get all employees on the same page for the year.  The kickoff will be held over two days and include safety training, policy updates, new equipment, respirator fit tests, and more.  Breakout training sessions will be held so workers can get the relevant training they need. We are super excited about this event and welcome any feedback on making it better.

OSHA FALL STAND-DOWN

Each spring, OSHA holds its National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction.  For the past three years, Double Z has proudly participated in the event.  Usually held in May, the stand-down is a great opportunity to bring awareness to the dangers of working from heights.  During the week, we hold safety meetings with food and drinks to go over our policies, equipment, dangers, etc.  This event is a great time and an even better way to get workers involved.
